The Grossmont Union High School District International Newcomer Center (INC) welcomes new high school students (grades 9-12) whose primary language is not English and/or who have not previously attended school in California. The goal of our office is to help students make a smooth transition into Grossmont Union High Schools. We provide several essential supports to ensure student success as they enter one of Grossmont’s high schools: assess a student's English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills; understanding a students' past educational experiences; evaluate a student’s school transcripts, recommend student placement; create an educational profile for each student; and connect families to resources and key people at their school site.

GUHSD English Learners Programs is committed to supporting EL students, families, and teachers in an innovative, collaborative, and caring manner providing educational supports and services to our GUHSD community.
